From our college days, we ventured into various businesses, including working in a milk dairy, farming, network marketing, food stalls, and the milk business. Despite our relentless efforts, we couldn't generate the level of income required to change our life situation, nor did we find true satisfaction in any of these endeavors.
The urge to do something unique, impactful, and problem-solving kept pushing us. We spent countless hours searching online for innovative business ideas. It was during this research that we discovered a surprising gap in the market—almost everything was being sold online except tea.
The Birth of Graduate Chai
It was a 'Eureka' moment for us! We realized that tea, a staple beverage in India, had yet to be truly revolutionized through an online ordering system. Given that we were all graduates, we decided to name our venture “Graduate Chai” with the tagline “The Educated Taste.”
When we shared our vision, our relatives and society ridiculed us. "Now graduates will sell chai?" they mocked. Our family was hesitant and unsupportive. However, we believed in ourselves and in our vision. Determined to turn our dream into reality, we launched our very first outlet in Shirdi, the holy town of Shri Sai Baba.
Overcoming Challenges
Our journey was far from easy. For the first three years, we operated a single outlet, enduring numerous challenges, including skepticism from people, financial constraints, and operational difficulties. However, the biggest hurdle came in the form of the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in two years of complete lockdown.
During this period, businesses across the world suffered, and ours was no exception. It was a testing time, but we refused to give up. With patience, perseverance, and strategic planning, we survived the toughest times and emerged stronger than ever.
The Turning Point
Despite the initial struggles, our tea's unique taste and quality started gaining popularity. People who once laughed at us now became our loyal customers. They appreciated the effort and passion we put into making every cup of tea special.
Word of mouth spread, and soon Graduate Chai became a recognized brand. More and more customers were drawn to our tea, not just for its taste but also for the entrepreneurial story behind it.

Our persistence paid off. Today, Graduate Chai has grown beyond our wildest dreams. From a single outlet in Shirdi, we have expanded to over 130+ franchise outlets across India, and we are still growing!
