Manipal Education & Medical Group (MEMG) has acquired Jigsaw Academy Education Pvt Ltd. The e-learning platform offers courses in big data and data analytics for working professionals.

With this acquisition, MEMG will increase course offerings for upskilling and reskilling. It will also help the company streamline in its digital marketing expenditure.

Earlier, the medical conglomerate invested Rs 20 crore in Jigsaw Academy, before taking control over the Bengaluru-based startup.

Subrat Mohanty, Group President of MEMG, said, “We’ll be now going B2C in a big way. Jigsaw Academy Founders Sarita Digumarti and Gaurav Vohra will remain with the company.”

Founded by Dr. TMA Pai in 1953, MEMG aims at providing solutions for increasing enrolment, ensuring student retention and enhancing the quality of output through new generation technologies.

Whereas, Jigsaw Academy was started by Gaurav Vohra and Sarita Digumarti in 2011. Its course catalogue also includes machine learning, artificial intelligence, and the internet of things.
