- 1M1B Aims To Expand Women's Empowerment Initiatives In Rural India
1M1B (One Million for One Billion) Foundation, a United Nations-accredited organisation creating a future-ready tech workforce, has announced the onboarding of Priya Subodh as Director for Women Skilling and Social Entrepreneurship at the India organization.
Priya Subodh brings around two decades of leadership experience in human resource management, youth skilling, training, and supporting women. Priya is a social entrepreneur and interior stylist by passion, with vast experience in content creation, supporting women weavers, curating their products, and creating a market for their businesses and lives. Also, Priya has leadership experience in digital marketing and digital creativity product solutions and customer engagement. Priya has been voluntarily supporting 1M1B and its women empowerment-related initiatives for the past several years, working with women at the grassroots level so that they are ready to start their small business or job supported by 1M1B’s CSR partners.
At 1M1B, Priya will be working with the team members based in villages and cities to make the team stronger and to strengthen the culture of mutual respect to make 1M1B a great place to work. She will act as a pillar and be responsible for the success of every woman and youth in villages who are associated with 1M1B. Priya will immediately supervise and lead the ongoing Women Empowerment Initiatives at 1M1B which aims to upskill rural women to be financially independent by imparting skills like digital literacy, digital creativity and textile sector-specific skills like tailoring, embroidery, weaving in the villages of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Priya will also oversee all business development, expansions, new partnerships, market connect and the development of the partner ecosystem for 1M1B’s initiatives at the grassroots level.

Her vast experience and passion to upskill women from the grassroots will help 1M1B have an integrated approach to meet our objectives. Priya Subodh, Director, Women Skilling and Social Entrepreneurship, 1M1B Foundation, on her appointment, said, “I am delighted to join Team 1M1B. I have full confidence that my experience will add value to the organisation’s initiatives, and I will be able to help empower women by training them on livelihood and providing them awareness on Financial and Digital Literacy.”
Over the last three years, 1M1B has trained more than 2,500 women and girls and helped enhance their income from INR 2000 a month to INR 8,000 to INR 10,000 a month.
