There are several things that you can do to prepare healthy lunches for your work days, including the following:
- Keep one eve for food preparation for the entire week
- Increase quantity of dinner for grab-and-go options the next day
- Dedicating a little extra time each week to the meal planning to avoid scramble before work each morning.
Simple cooking is the key
Most people think, eating healthy means spend hours in the kitchen. However, the fact is, a wholesome lunch could be simple and delicious. Aim to include one source of protein and one or two sources of carbohydrates in your meal and you should be good to go.
Include variety in the diet
Eating the same low-fat food everyday could be boring and leads you to binge on unhealthy food choices. When you pack a healthy lunch for work, remember to change it often. Be adventurous and try new fruits or vegetables to avoid getting bored of the same menu.
Partner with a colleague
In case of big launch event or any other promotional stunt, where, entire staff likes to eat out together, find at least one person to indulge in healthy snacks, salads or share the big quantity of unhealthy food with you. This can give you extra motivation and keep you intact with your commitment towards your health.
Stock your desk/bag
Don't forget to have your hands full with essential healthy snacks or nuts. If you pack a salad but forget to bring a fork, it may prove challenging to eat your lunch. Keep use and throw utensils, spices, and snacks on hand for a comfortable eating spot.
