- 98 Crossword Bookstores by year end
Crossword Bookstores, with 89 stores across India, has now huge plans to come up with nine new stores by December 2014. Reckoned as India’s fastest growing chain of bookstores, the brand has pioneered the lifestyle bookstore concept in the country.
Kinjal Shah, Chief Executive Officer, Crossword Bookstores, says “Across India we have 45 franchise stores and plan to add nine more by end of this year. We are also expanding to tier II and III cities where there are no organised bookstores. We want to provide the Crossword experience to a wide range of customers.
Shah further adds: “We also plan to enter cities like Calicut, Trivandrum, Patna, Chandigarh, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Rajkot , Shillong and others.
Crossword Bookstores Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary company of Shopper’s Stop Ltd. The Holding Company Inter Alia also acts as a Master Franchisee of the bookstores company. The brand aims to be a point of cultural and social interaction where authors and poets hold court, where children are regaled, where people gravitate to be informed, to be entertained, even enlightened.
