What is the USP of Kids Gurukulam
Kids Gurukulam Preschool & Day Care Centre strives to create a happy atmosphere where learning is fun. Kids Gurukulam encourages children, parents and staff to embrace and enjoy their early experiences. We believe children learn most effectively through first hand experiences and their own activities. Kids Gurukulam Preschool & Day Care Centre is a part of 'Every Child a Talker' (ECAT) Programme. This programme is designed to strengthen every child’s language development by ensuring a developmentally appropriate, supportive and stimulating environment in which children can enjoy experimenting and learning language. We work in partnership with parents to determine next steps for individual children. We have also introduced ‘Early reading connects’ which looks at strengthening literacy development in children under the age of five years. It emphasises the importance of early reading in children and parental involvement. Every week the children are given a book to be taken at home to read with their parents which is returned back.
What kind of opportunity will you offer to your franchisees?
By being a franchisee of Kids Gurukulam, there lies an opportunity to be a part of one of the leading educational ventures in near future. For them it would be an occasion to understand the franchise business and grow along with the brand – Kids Gurukulam. Developing entrepreneurial skills is very important to succeed in this business and for that we are dedicated to providing round the clock support to franchisees and rigorous training to teaching and non-teaching staff.
Shed some light on your expansion plans.
We are a Mumbai based organisation and initially we would like to expand in Maharashtra. We understand that selling a preschool franchise is not like selling an FMCG product. It requires a lot of handholding. In the first phase of expansion, we would like to focus on Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Nashik along with tier-II and III cities, including Amravati, Akola, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Latur, Chiplun, etc.
What kind of training and support will you offer to franchisees?
It will include an orientation programme for franchisees before the commencement of the operations; training for teaching and non-teaching staff – at least twice a year before the sessions start. We would be very happy to provide franchisees with marketing support, analysis of the surrounding market and strategy planning to ensure smooth operations.
What are the investment and area requisites to be a Kids Gurukulam franchisee? Also, tell us about the break-even and RoI.
The investment required will be Rs 5 lakh with an area of 800-1500 sq ft. The RoI can be anything between 35% and 40% and the break-even is usually six months.
How many preschools are you planning to open by year-end? Share your international plans also.
Currently, we have 11 preschools. By the beginning of the new academic session, we plan to have at least 50-70 centres across Maharashtra and some parts of Gujarat. We need to strengthen our brand in India before going abroad. That can certainly happen three years down the line.
