YoYo Noodle, a UK-based Chinese food chain is all set to spread its flavour pan India via franchising. In a tête-à-tête with Ekta Verma, Anuradha Makhija, CEO, YoYo Noodle, talks about the brand’s plans to tease the taste buds of connoisseurs pan-India and the franchising opportunities offered by the brand.

YoYo Noodle is an England-based Chinese food chain and is looking forward to establish its footprints in India into the key markets via franchising. YoYo group employs over 1000 employees worldwide. The group’s restaurants enjoy a five star hygiene rating across network. The project has come in the form of FDI collaboration between the YoYo Group and One Network Consulting Company. We plan to grow at a rapid pace in India. We have a target of around 200 stores Pan India creating 2000 jobs in India. One network’s strengths have always been in bringing multi-national brands in India, beginning from IT products to F &B now.
What kind of training and support will be offered to the franchisees?
We will extend full support to our franchise partners. Initial franchisee training will be performed by certified professionals. Also, there will be support from a dedicated account manager. We will hold quarterly franchisee meetings for our franchisee network and share the best practices.
What is the USP of YoYo Noodle?
We are unique. YoYo's iconic red noodle boxes stand for fresh food, fast. The innovative A,B, C menu offers up to 4000 unique combinations, with all the ingredients prepared on-site each morning. We combine fresh vegetables with fresh sauces for a unique fast food experience. Our unique menu concept appeals to a broad range of ages and market sectors.
What qualities do you seek in a prospective franchisee?
Someone who is zealous and believes in the brand. We need people who are particular about international standards being followed and maintain hygienic surroundings inside the restaurant. A prospective franchisee has to be someone with a go getter attitude.
What are your expansion plans in India?
YoYo Noodle India plans to create its brand presence in India through the master franchise agreement between One Network Consulting and the YoYo group. Together, we plan to open more than 200 YoYo Noodle Outlets in India over the next five years. We also plan to get our presence into Tier II cities as it’s a very mature market and it has a high potential. By 2015 we target at least 40 outlets in Tier I and II.
