AIOCD members and stockists soon under a common brand

All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD) is planning to have all their members and stockists under a common brand through franchising in the coming years. The association supports around 5.5 lakh members and 60,000 stockists having pharmacy retail outlets.

As told to Ramanjit Kaur of FIHL, “The aim of AIOCD Ltd. is to effectively leverage the benefits of scale from consolidation, to provide the channel the requisite capability, infrastructure, reach and breadth of service offerings even while providing assurance of genuine products at a competitive price,” said J.S.Shinde, Chairman and President, AIOCD Ltd. The name of the common brand has not been revealed yet as it is under registration process.

J.S.Shinde further added that AIOCD Ltd is in the process of setting up organised retail outlets with common branding across the country for organised distribution, sales and marketing of products and services. The operations are supported by state-of-the-art IT systems (SAP ECC 6.0), supported and managed by a team of professionals with adequate domain and technical knowledge. 90-95 per cent of pharmaceutical sale is handled by members of AIOCD Ltd.
