- AlmaBetter Joins Hands With IIT Guwahati To Offer Certification Programmes
AlmaBetter, an ed-tech platform has partnered with the E&ICT Academy at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati to offer advanced certifications in Full Stack Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Full Stack Web Development.
As per official release, the E&ICT Academies represent a collaborative initiative involving the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and various IITs and NITs.
According to this, the curriculum has been crafted and endorsed by E&ICT Academy at IIT Guwahati. Learners enrolling with AlmaBetter will receive an additional Advanced Certification from E&ICT Academy at IIT Guwahati, granting them access to a globally recognised standard of education accredited by IIT. Upon completing this certification, learners can add a prestigious IIT endorsement to their resumes, significantly enhancing their career prospects, the release mentioned.
“E&ICT Academy was introduced to enhance the employability of tech students and working professionals in our country. Our partnership with AlmaBetter makes it easier for us to reach more students nationwide. This partnership marks a huge step ahead as we offer the best education and employability skills to tech learners,” Gaurav Trivedi, principal investigator, E&ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati, said in the statement.
With this partnership, AlmaBetter aims to increase this percentage by at least 30 per cent, democratising tech education and making it widely accessible and affordable to tech enthusiasts and professionals across the nation. All students eyeing IIT-certified programmes can now access a global curriculum via a flexible way of learning focused on job outcomes with access to AlmaBetter’s esteemed network of more than 700 hiring partners, as per the release.
“It is a significant milestone in our journey as we continue our mission to bring a global standard of tech education to our country’s capable students who otherwise cannot access or afford the finest of tech education. AlmaBetter claims to have recorded a 92 per cent placement rate in the last three years. Earlier in July, AlmaBetter had launched AlmaBetter Innovarsity and allocated INR 50 crore to the Innovarsity fund to enhance learner experience, bring global standard education and offer merit-based scholarships across programmes. The company plans to allocate 50 per cent of this fund towards scholarships for its programs in partnership with E&ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati, it added.
