Health and wellness industry is a booming sector, which is exponentially increasing by each passing day. With the growing needs of better wellness measures and the inevitably progressive nature of the following sector, the industry will project a great graph, which will rise undoubtedly.
Currently, it is a $3.7 trillion dollar market globally and it is expected that the number will rise with newer researches that are taking place. Statistics show that India will be among the top 10 markets for the health and wellness industry.
Talking with Wellness India, Dr. Anu Jaiswal, founder, and CEO, Vedic Sutra Wellness Centre, shares her opinion about the growing demand of Ayurveda in India. She also talks about why it is a must to amalgamate technology with Ayurveda. Excerpts from the interview:
Technology Affecting the Ayurveda Industry
Jaiswal says, “Yes, technology does affect various business sectors; it provides a horizon which leads to a betterment of every sector. New researches give rise to different technologies which in return benefits the overall respective sectors. Particularly in the context of Ayurveda, technology has played an important role, and combining it with Ayurveda would provide timeless and more effective outcomes.
The results which are generated are an enhancement to an impressive extent. The fusion of technology and Ayurveda has given rise to a new term which is profoundly called techno-Ayurved and it has numerous benefits.”
Innovation: An Important Modern-day Business Component
“Innovation is an important component of today’s business. Different problems emerge daily, so these problems need innovative solutions to be dealt with. New innovative solutions with better results than the earlier are always expected by the consumers.
The demand never stops, so the seeking of new innovative solutions in any industry never stops. And it is also necessary for the industry’s well being and continuity that newer solutions should be developed. Innovation leads to effective betterment,” added Jaiswal.

Jaiswal explains, “The latest trends in the Indian wellness and ayurvedic industry are holistic health, fitness, gym, and herbal products. Herbal products have attracted a lot of people due to its ‘no side effects’ ideology. The people are leaning more towards it because of its benefits and also the trend which is going on.
Health has now become a trend or lifestyle. Everybody you see wants to become healthy and fit by practicing different means. This trend is not likely to diminish soon because of the increasing awareness.”
