- America's favourite restaurant chain Applebee's seeks India partner
Applebee’s one of the largest casual dining chains in the world is looking for franchise partner to enter into the Indian market. Currently, there are over 1990 Applebee's restaurants operating system-wide in 49 states, 15 international countries and one US territory. The Applebee's restaurant employs approximately 28,000 employees globally.
“India is on our radar to introduce our brand and we are actively exploring franchisees at this point whilst considering the appropriate timing to enter the market.” stated a person aware of the development.
Applebee's Services Inc and its affiliates franchise and operate restaurants under Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar and are a DineEquity, brand. The North American restaurant chain has an open or see through kitchen. This gives guests the opportunity to also see where their food is being prepared and a sense of the overall general cleanliness and food safety environment. Founded in 1980, Applebee's menu features chicken, as well as burgers, pasta and seafood, with a selection of signature menu item ‘riblet’ found only at Applebee's. IHOP Corp acquired Applebee's International for about $2.1 billion in 2007. After the acquisition, IHOP Corp changed its name to DineEquity Inc.
