Wendy’s, one of the largest international fast food restaurant chains made its debut in India by opening its first restaurant in Gurgaon. Sierra Nevada Restaurants Pvt. Ltd is Wendy’s franchisee for India, which is a joint venture between International Market Management (IMM) of the UK and Rollatainers Ltd of India. Sierra Nevada plans to open three more outlets in Delhi/NCR during the summer months and up to 20 more in North India over the next few years.
Wendy's has introduced new menu, restaurant designs and approaches to serve the Indian consumer. Sanjay Chhabra, one of the Directors of Sierra Nevada says, "We have worked on the concept with the Wendy's team for almost two years. We talked to Indian consumers and discovered that what they want is real quality and distinctive, great-tasting menu choices at an affordable price. While staying true to Wendy’s values, we are customising the brand experience to make it relevant to India.”
