Joining the fight against AIDS, Tech giant Apple, famous for the austere designs of its gadgets, has turned the colour of its white logo to red in a bid to mark World AIDS Day, at its major retail outlets.
The company is also seeking support for (RED) in fight against AIDS on its website, noting the global health community had reached a critical turning point against AIDS in Africa.
Reportedly, the website says, "Together, they’re getting closer to delivering the first generation in over 30 years to be born free from the disease. The purchases you make during our holiday shopping events and through Apps for (RED) can create a lasting impact on the future of millions.”
Moreover, from Nov 24 to Dec 7, the apps participating in the RED campaign of the company will have 100 per cent proceeds go to the Global Fund to fight AIDS.
Besides, RED iTunes Gift Cards will have donations automatically given to the Global Fund to support the fight against deadly disease.
Since its introduction, RED has generated more than $275 million for the Global Fund, more than $75 million from Apple alone.
The brand appeal consumers to make a significant change in world by supporting the RED campaign.
