Colette, an Australian brand of fashion jewellery, accessories and handbags, by Colette Hayman has lately signed a pact with Brand Access, a retail start-up firm located in Gurgaon, India. It is a 10-year, master franchise agreement aimed at building large-format stores pan-India.
Australia and New Zealand have more than 90 stores of the privately-owned brand, which was established back in 2010 in Australia. Now, the growing Indian market is being targeted by Colette, with Mumbai being the first region to be tapped through franchise route by the end of this month.
Arka Dhar, MD, Brand Access, said, “The stores will retail products about 40 per cent cheaper than rivals and bring in new collections every week. The firm is in talks with ‘multiple’ global brands in the clothing and fashion space to ink franchise partnerships.”
Brand Access is seeking to launch almost 60 Colette stores in the coming two-and-a-half years. It is focusing on introducing two non-competing brands a year to India. The Gurgaon-based brand also has its offices in Singapore.
After India, Colette would be entering into the Middle East and South Africa.
