Bounce, an Australian indoor trampoline theme park brand, has entered into the Indian market by launching its first venue at Infiniti Mall, Malad, in Mumbai. Stratospheric Entertainment is the master franchise owner for Bounce in the country.

While Stratospheric Entertainment will make all the investments, Australia-based Bounce will help with the installations, designing, training the staff, and knowledge transfer.

Anand Barot, Director and CEO, Bounce India and Co-Founder of Stratospheric Entertainment, said, “We foresee India to become one of the biggest markets for Bounce Global due to its large and expanding youth population.”

Knight Frank India, the property consultant, was the transaction advisor for the agreement.

Abhishek Sharma, Director (Retail) of Knight Frank India, said, “While India is a strong market for theme and recreational parks, Bounce is the first major global operator to enter into India. Given its unique proposition, we expect Bounce to attract good footfalls and thereby generate healthy revenues, setting a path for other global entertainment companies to look at India for their expansions.”

Future Plans

Stratospheric Entertainment is eyeing to launch 6-7 more centres in India in the next four years, with an investment of about Rs 150 crore. It is also in talks with developers in Delhi, Gurugram, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad for unveiling similar stores.

Antony Morell, Founder Director of Bounce Inc, stated, “Our vision has always been for Bounce to be a global brand. To truly be a global brand you have to have a presence in India, this magical culture that is home to a third of the world’s population.”

Bounce believes that the concept has been successful across cultures as diverse as Saudi Arabia and Sweden, and will be well received in India.

Mukesh Kumar, CEO, Infiniti Mall, said, “The shopping centers or malls in India have seen a massive transformation from being mere shopping destinations to entertainment zones and that's where the uniqueness of Bounce Inc will come into play.”

Melbourne-based Bounce has more than 35 indoor trampoline centres across 15 countries and four continents.

Australian indoor trampoline theme park brand is the second international theme park format to launch in the country after Mexican brand KidZania, which was introduced in 2013. KidZania caters to children, while Bounce would be open for all ages.
