As part of its plan to expand overseas, Avvashya CCI Logistics Pvt Ltd (ACCI), a unit of Mumbai-listed Allcargo Logistics Ltd, is entering into the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kenya.
The company's move is significant as the Kenyan government is planning to develop the country as a regional auto-manufacturing hub because it is the largest economy in East Africa and is one of the largest automobile markets in the African continent.
ACCI is further expanding operations into the economically vibrant Gulf region by operating out of the bustling Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai. The company is aiming to provide warehousing services to automotive majors in the Zone, thus tapping into a major part of the Zone’s customer base.
Adarsh Hegde, Joint MD, Allcargo Logistics, said, "We foresee an uptick in demand for specialised warehousing and logistics solutions for the auto sector as automakers plan to set-up vehicle assembly lines in automotive hubs around the world. This is the right time to scale up our operational capacities on a global level and expand our footprint in emerging overseas automotive hubs."
