With the rising health consciousness among the people and incidents of food borne diseses, food start-up AwesomeChef  is eyeing huge potential for its do-it-yourself (DIY) Nutribowl health meal kits.

The meal kits contain unprocessed food, rice or wheat along with the fresh ingredients measured for one person along with the recipe. The inustructions serve the purpose of cooking the meal.

Anjali Anand, co-founder of AwesomeChef, said the company plans to rope in gym instructors, trainers and nutritionists to popularise the product.

Anand said, “the Nutribowl team works with nutritionists to come up with menus and exact measurements for a person, and delivers it the next day. The menu consists of soups, curries and stir-fried food using vegetables, meat, nuts, berries, butter, ghee, coconut and olive oil. “They do not take more than 20 minutes to cook.”

Currently Nutribowl is available in week and two-week options for lunch or dinner. It is priced at Rs.1,800 per week. There are monthly menus in the pipeline as well.

Anand said, “The company is also planning DIY meal kits for kids during the summer vacation. “We are also working on products that can be picked off the shelves in supermarkets.”
