Baggit will be coming up with 12 to 15 stores in the North-East region this year. The brand presently runs about 43 outlets.
On the expansion plans of the brand, Nina Lekhi, Founder and Owner, Baggit, says, “We are opening 12 to 15 stores this year in the North–East region. These stores will be set up in high street, centres and malls in tier I and II cities like Bhubaneswar and Kolkata. Average area required to open each store will be of 200-250 sq ft with an investment of Rs 50 lakh per store.”
Baggit’s 94 % sales come from offline stores and four percent come from online mode. To strengthen its online space, it is going to develop new website of Baggit. The brand, which has a target age group of 15 to 40 years old, is also introducing men’s bags in the price range of Rs 3000 to Rs 4000, she added further.
Baggit was founded in 1990 with a desire to create a brand that offered a unique concept. It pioneered the concept of using traditional handicraft skills to create modern designs with non-leather, eco-friendly materials and thus, becoming one of the favourite bag brands of the Indian consumers.
