In conversation with Priyanka Rai, Dr Rekha Gonsalves, Brand Owner, Dr Rekha’s skin & slim centre, shares her experiences in the industry and talks about the plans for the brand’s expansion.
Share with us the inception and growth of your brand.
The company, Dr Rekha’s skin & slim centre, was founded by Dr Rekha in 2009. Presently, the company is operating three outlets in Mumbai. It’s the best laser clinic in Mumbai with provisions for all advanced skin, hair, weight-loss and anti-ageing treatments. After 14 years of medical practice and dealing with emergencies, now we are planning to make the world look beautiful by enhancing its beauty.
What kind of services do you offer?
We offer services in advance skin resurfacing with lasers , botox, fillers , FTC (threadlift), removal of scars, moles, tags, tattoo and hair removal by laser, hair re-growth , treatments for hair loss , alopecia; weight loss , inch loss treatments with machines and anti-ageing treatments.
What was the reason behind opting for the franchise route? What kind of training and support do you offer?
For offering our services on pan-India and international levels, we have decided to opt for the franchise business model. In our business, the franchisees will get regular training sessions for their staff to handle business operations properly. We also provide a proper management information system that helps the entrepreneurs to grow quickly, efficiently and successfully.
How much investment and area is required for opening your brand’s franchise? How much break-even and RoI does one get after partnering with your brand?
For taking our brand’s franchise, the potential franchisee will require an investment of Rs 15-20 lakh along with an area of 400-600 sq ft. The break-even point of our business is 12- 15 months with a RoI of 96 per cent.
What are your expansion plans?
We are planning to set up 15-20 franchise outlets by the end of this year. In the next five years, we would like to open 100 outlets globally. In India, we will target cities like Chennai, Kerala, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Kolkata, Nepal and Mumbai.
