- Birla Kerala Vaidyashala to open 200 outlets
Birla Kerala Vaidyashala (BKV), a chain of ayurvedic treatment centres and drug outlets is planning to open 200 outlets across the nation in the next five years, confirmed Vishwajith Kurup, ED, Birla Kerala Vaidyashala. These will include both franchisee as well as company-owned outlets.
The company already has spa centres in Kerala, Goa, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai. The company is targeting a turnover of Rs 500 crore within five years from organic growth. It is also planning an Initial Public Offer (IPO) by next year as part of the expansion plan. Presently, the company supports 30 therapy centres across India.
Last year, Yash Birla acquired 51 per cent stakes in Aluva-based Kerala Vaidyashala as an extension of the ayurvedic wellness segment. Now the company is aiming at more acquisitions in traditional ayurveda. The company is also in talks with the Nagarjuna Group of Thodupuzha, near Kottayam.
