The recent participation of Franchise India at the Franchise Expo Paris on March 14-17 2010 and The British & International Franchise Exhibition in London on March 19-20 2010, witnessed the keenness of international concepts in Europe to enter the Indian market.
The Franchise Paris Expo brought together nearly 400 companies that included both emblematic brands as well as emerging concepts in more than 75 sectors. There were many innovative and exciting concepts, particularly in fashion, confectionary, women’s fitness services, home wares and casual dining concepts. With approx 30,000 visitors, Franchise Expo Paris attracted healthy numbers despite the current economic crisis. The London Expo also presented some exciting new concepts particularly for young children and pets. Convenience stores, pawn shops, weight loss, contract cleaning, fast food, and business consulting were some more interesting concepts presented at the Expo.
As part of London show, Franchise India also participated in the international zone, where the best in franchising concepts from around the world gathered to share international concepts and best practices in franchising. A highly interactive round table session was held with the discussion topics of how franchisors and franchisees are globally altering their strategies to suite the current business climate.
Such events provide ample opportunities for the Indian franchise industry. The rising awareness and interest in India, as a country ripe for franchise concepts also bodes well for qualified local investors who are keen to participate with top international franchise brands to represent the concept in India and expand regionally.
