Britannia Industries has shortlisted four countries, namely Nigeria, Egypt, Myanmar and Bangladesh, for the expansion of its overseas operations.
The company eyes to start operations in one of the countries in the next financial year. It will begin operations in other countries in the following year.
The Kolkata-headquartered company will also enhance its products portfolio by bringing croissants by the end of this year. It will expand its offering in the value-added segment in the dairy business.
Varun Berry, Managing Director of Britannia Industries, said, "We are looking for two more countries to enter. Our commitment is to enter into one new country every new year."
"The countries which are in our shortlist are Nigeria, Egypt, Myanmar and Bangladesh. At this point of time, we are very close to entering and one of them would be next financial year and another would be in FY2020-21," he further added.
