- Burger King opens in Chennai, aims 50 stores this year
With its launch of Chennai store, US-based quick service restaurant Burger King’s outlet count has reached 34. The brand plans to take its total count to 45-50 stores by the end of the current year.
Since its launch in November, 2014, Burger King is now present in key markets including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Hyderabad and Chennai. In India, the Everstone Capital-led Master Franchisee is currently opening its own stores in various parts of the country while the option is kept open for sub-franchisee model as well.
The company is present in approximately 14,000 locations serving more than 11 million guests daily in nearly 100 countries and territories worldwide. It is a global chain of hamburger fast-food restaurants and was founded by James McLamore in 1954. The brand is known for its signature recipes and delectable menu.
