In a new move, US burger chain Carl's Jr has decided to serve Kingfisher beer at its stores in India starting with New Delhi as it collaborated with United Breweries.

"The decision to offer beer is the outcome of a key insight in the quick service restaurant market in India. There are hardly any fast food chains offering the beer and burger combo," says Carl's Jr India Director Samira Chopra.

Carl's Jr is among the first fast-food chains to serve beer at its stores. Cricketer Yuvraj Singh, whose investment fund YouWeCan Ventures has invested in the US fast-food chain's India master franchisee Cybiz BrightStar Restaurants, is a brand ambassador for Carl's Jr in India. As per industry estimates, India's quick service restaurant segment is valued at Rs 60 billion and is expected to grow by 26% each year.
