Carlson Rezidor to open 40 more hotels

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has 40 hotels in pipeline to be opened in India. The company plans to open 10 of them in 2014.

“Carlson Rezidor is an international hotel chain in India with 66 operating hotels and 40 in the pipeline. We intend to maintain this position in 2014 by opening 10 hotels, of which 5 have already opened: Radisson Hi-Tech City Hyderabad, Radisson Blu Udaipur, Country Inns and Suites by Carlson Bhiwadi and Country Inns & Suites by Carlson Bhatinda in Punjab,” shares Raj Rana, CEO, South Asia, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group.

The group’s hotels are present in 40 cities throughout India and over the last few years, it has focused on building its presence in south and central India. It has signed hotels in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Karjat, Salem and Goa.

Currently, the group’s hotels under construction are in Guwahati, Mysore, Mumbai, Haryana and Punjab and aim to establish its brands across all state capitals and tier-II cities in India.

The expansion of the company is a mix of franchisee-run and managed hotels. “The key to success in franchising is to ensure that the ownership has the expertise and experience of managing hotels. This ensures that there is a good understanding of brand and service standards and the importance of adhering to these in hotel operation,” Raj Rana further tells Franchise India.
