US-based global hospitality brand Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is planning to add 3000 new rooms to its portfolio under its different brands in India in the next three to four years. The Group, which is mainly present in big cities of the country, will expand in new locations for opening 27 to 28 hotels in tier-II cities.
Raj Rana, CEO, South Asia, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, says, “Brand’s current portfolio is a good mix of franchisee-run and managed hotels." The company is going as per its policy to have at least one property in each state capital of the country. The group recently opened its first hotel in Guwahati. The hotel has 196 luxury rooms and is currently employing about 250 people.
The group presently has 73 operational hotels across India and offers about 9,000 rooms under various categories. Globally, it has over 1,350 hotels operational and under development in more than 105 countries. By 2015, Carlson Rezidor has set a target of 1,500 hotels in operation and under development. The Group operates global hospitality brands including, Quorvus Collection, Radisson Blu, Radisson, Radisson Red, Park Plaza and Park Inn under Radisson, Country Inns & Suites under Carlson.
