Carlson, a hospitality and travel company is all set to open 19 hotels in India across its four brands; Radisson, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, Park Inn and Park Plaza by the end of 2011. These hotels will be based on the franchise model but managed by the company. Further, the company aims to open another 100 hotels by 2015.
The US-based hotel chain currently employs around 10,000 people across its 34 hotels and would be generating 6,000 employment opportunities by opening these hotels. The company has already signed management contracts for about 54 hotels.
The 19 hotels of which 11 are Radisson owned will be located in Agra, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Chennai, Ghaziabad, Goa, Greater Noida, Haridwar, Hyderabad, Ranchi and Rudrapur. About 90 per cent of the hotels are operated, globally through management contracts and franchise model.
