CavinKare plans expansion of beauty salon biz

India’s diversified FMCG conglomerate CavinKare Pvt. Ltd. has announced its plan to expand its beauty salon business, Trends in Vogue Pvt. Ltd., across India. The brand has planned to open 350 salons in metros and mini-metros by 2015.

Presently, the beauty salon business of CavinKare Pvt. Ltd includes 110 outlets with major presence in South India. The expansion will be done with the current portfolio of brands, Green Trends and Limelite.

About the bourgeoning salon market in India, CK Ranganathan, Chairman & Managing Director, CavinKare, said: “We have been expanding rapidly across markets, and some of our outlets will be company-owned and some franchisee-led. With this initiative, we will establish our footprints strongly across India.”

The beauty services market in India is growing at an annual rate of 20 per cent. CavinKare's turnover from the beauty salon business this financial year is estimated at Rs 50 crore.
