- Champion Agro to open 400 centres
Champion Agro Ltd, a farm products maker and retailer, plans to expand rapidly into north India by opening its 400 agro malls within next three years. It plans to invest Rs 100 crore for the expansion and will recruit over 200 people. Ideally it plans pan India expansion through joint ventures and franchising relationships.
The company has already established its offices at Azadpur, Mandi, Delhi and Solan. Further, it will establish cold chains, warehousing facilities and also PHM facilities across Haryana, Rajasthan, MP, HP, Uttarakhand etc. In immediate next phase, it plans to expand to Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, MP and Rajasthan etc.
In the northern region, the company will operate in agro retail centres under the brand name of 'Champion Agro World' and market fresh fruits and vegetables under the brand name of 'Champion Fresh' retail centres.
