- Children's books' startup Bookosmia acquires mythological stories app Mytha
Bookosmia, a two-year-old publishing and content startup, has acquired an Indian mythological stories app for children, Mytha, in an all-stock deal.
Launched by Ambika Behal in 2015, Mytha was started with the aim of creating a digital content platform for storytelling.
Started by Nidhi Mishra, Bookosmia curates and publishes stories for children through physical books, e-books and audio formats. The startup has published two books under titles ‘I wish I were’ and ‘Yaksha’. It is also operating an e-store that has colouring books, puzzles and gift boxes for children.
With the acquisition of Mytha, Bookosmia will be adding a library of more than 40 mythological digital stories and two published books. The company is planning to release these stories in the digital format, followed by physical book versions.
Bookosmia, which means 'smell of books', eyes to promote the habit of reading among children. It further targets to launch a few titles in the future that will be authored by children themselves.
