Chubu Electric has increased its investment in OMC Power, supporting 100 MW of renewable projects across India and South Africa.

Chubu Electric, a prominent global provider of electrical engineering solutions, has announced an expanded investment in OMC Power, which will advance 100 MW of energy transition projects while also strengthening OMC's market presence in India and South Africa. According to Chubu Electric, this investment would strengthen the company's collaboration with OMC by promoting scalable renewable energy infrastructure and the widespread deployment of distributed energy systems.

OMC Power presently manages more than 500 renewable energy plants, providing clean energy to a variety of commercial sectors. With this additional capital, OMC intends to accelerate the growth of its solar-powered renewable energy model, with a focus on distributed clean energy solutions that contribute to a sustainable energy ecosystem.

OMC Power's unique energy solutions enable telecom infrastructure to reduce reliance on diesel generators, thereby boosting green energy utilisation in the sector. OMC is also assisting with the energy shift on institutional rooftops by offering sustainable power systems that decrease operational expenses. OMC's smart grids make renewable energy more accessible in rural areas, providing businesses with sustainable energy solutions that promote both economic stability and environmental responsibility.

The company's network of more than 500 installations demonstrates its dedication to combating climate change while meeting future energy demands. With increased support from Chubu Electric, OMC expects to boost capacity by more than 100 MWp this fiscal year, substantially increasing its technological capabilities and renewable energy footprint in India.

Rohit Chandra, Managing Director & CEO of OMC Power, emphasised the importance of investing in capacity expansion and operational technology, as well as the impact of cross-learning from the company's two-year partnership with Chubu Electric, which has driven sector innovation.

Fumiaki Kashimori, Deputy CEO of Chubu Electric's Global Business Division, stated that this investment in OMC Power represents a significant step forward in Chubu Electric's commitment to sustainability, with significant benefits for rural populations. "We are certain that renewable energy is critical to a greener, more sustainable future," he added.
