Bonphul had raised an undisclosed amount from Faridabad-based investor Satish Bhatia in October last year.

Bonphul Air Products Pvt. Ltd, which makes an oxygen optimiser called OxyMax, has received Rs 2 crore (around $293,000) in angel funding.

As per the company statement, the fresh capital was raised from Atul Gupta and Saurabh Rastogi, directors at computer spare parts firm Rx Infotech and packaging and food processing machines manufacturer Karmesh Global Technologies, respectively.

Bonphul had raised an undisclosed amount from Faridabad-based investor Satish Bhatia in October last year.

Narendra Bisht, co-founder and chief operating officer of Bonphul, said the latest infusion will be used to expand the firm’s product portfolio and widen its sales and marketing network.

It also plans to boost its technology development and roll out customised solutions for users in various verticals such as hospitals, schools, and shopping malls.

Bisht and former politician Prodyut Bora had founded Bonphul in July last year.

Their product, OxyMax, operates in a split mode with an outdoor unit and an indoor unit.

The outdoor unit harvests oxygen from the outside air and pumps it inside, where it is dispensed by the indoor unit.

The firm said this increases the oxygen level in the indoor air from its current level to 21%, leading to a fresher environment.

The product differs from an air purifier, which removes contaminants from the air.

A number of companies have cropped up in the recent past that seek to address the worsening air pollution in India.

A recent report by the World Health Organization said that India is home to nine of the world’s 10 most polluted cities, including the national capital New Delhi, based on the amount of the PM2.5 particle in the air.

Apart from air purifiers and oxygen optimisers, a number of firms are also making anti-pollution masks.

Earlier this year, SAR Group, the founding promoters of brand Luminous and owner of Livpure water purifiers, invested in Chennai-based clean-tech startup Air OK Technologies. The company is developing air purifiers and its products are in the late stages of development.
