Creative Group’s bed and bath brand, Creative Portico, is looking forward to enlarge its retail operation through more footprints across India, which will include tier II cities too. The company has planned to set up 20 stores in FY 2009-10. Creative Portico product portfolio includes bed-sets, comforters, duvet covers, pillows, blankets, towels, shower curtain, bath-mat and much more. Portico New York currently has one store operational in Mumbai, This is a franchisee managed store, and the company is yet to identify a suitable location for a company-owned store. Speaking on the expansion plan, Rajiv Merchant, CEO of Creative Portico said, “Our success with the first store in Mumbai at Prarthana Samaj is very encouraging. Portico New York is aggressively looking to grab quality retail space through dedicated franchise partners.” The company has conducted an in-depth analysis of opportunities available across the major and minor towns based on the Market Potential Value. Based on theses in-sights, Creative Portico has set its targets across the key towns in each region. Portico expands through franchise business model requires an investments amount of Rs.15-20 lakh. The company offers extensive marketing and sales support and also offers one of the best staff training programs. Portico is targeting quality retail space across a mix of high streets and malls where the locations would attract relevant and high footfalls. Area required is minimum 400-600 sq. ft on the ground floor with a wide frontage.
