Portico New York, a brand of Creative Portico (India) is planning to open 20 exclusive home furnishing outlets across the metro cities by 2011. These exclusive brand outlets will be opened via franchise way. The company also has plans of opening 100 shop-in-shops.
As told to Ramanjit Kaur of FIHL, “We are strongly focussing on the bed-and-bath furnishing segment that is growing at 20 per cent presently and to tap this potential we will be opening around 20 EBOs and 100 shop-in-shops,” says Chandan S, Senior General Manager (Retail and Marketing).
The company also has plans to open four to five flagship outlets in the major metropolitan cities and also targeting tier I and II cities in the coming two to three years.
Creative Portico has a share of 10 per cent in the rapidly growing Rs 900 crore organised bed-and-bath market. The company is growing at a rate of 50 per cent on annual basis and is targeting revenue of Rs 90 crore this fiscal against Rs 65-crore in FY 09.
Creative Portico is a subsidiary of a leading garment exporter, Creative Group. The company deals in three categories, which includes Portico regular range, kids range and Therapeia range of products (like i-bedding (treated with negative ion technology), soya bean quilts, anti-mite pillows and eco pillows).
