Cricketer Yuvraj Singh’s YouWeCan Ventures has invested in Pune-based SportyBeans, a brand that runs multi-sports programmes for children. Singh has picked up 10-15% stake in SportyBeans, which caters to the physical fitness needs of 1.5-8 year old through its 35 centres across 17 cities.
Karan Sareen, Director- Projects, SportyBeans said: “The Company looks to raise $8-10 million, or about Rs 52-65 crore, to fund its immediate growth plans. We target to have a network of over 200 centres in the next two years with revenues of about Rs 80 crore. We have also signed an international franchise in Mauritius and another one would soon be launched in Malaysia.”
Leading name in franchising and licensing consultancy, Franchise India Group promoted by entrepreneur Gaurav Marya has advised YouWeCan on the deal.
As far as business partner requisites are concerned, to be a partner with SportyBeans, a prospective franchisee must have an educational background in kinesiology, early childhood education, recreation management, physical education or personal training. Someone who is passionate about sports and loves to work with children. Experience of running a successful business, professionals/retired professors/teachers/entrepreneurs with rich academic and financial background are also welcome. Investment capacity of minimum Rs 10 lakh is a must.
