Crossword, positioned as a lifestyle bookstore, has launched its new franchised outlet in Bengaluru taking its tally to two stores in the city. Crossword currently has 26 franchised outlets across the country.
As told to Abha Garyali of FIHL the company plans to set up five to six outlets by the end of this year. Sunil Amre, Franchise Manager, Crossword says, “The company has plans to launch new outlets in the tier II towns across the country like in Baroda, Goa etc.” Presently Crossword has 11 outlets in Pune, five in Kolkata, three in Ahmedabad and one in Mumbai which are run by the franchisees. Crossword has a total of 55 stores which include both company owned and franchised stores.
Amre informed, “Both the franchised outlets in Bengaluru are run by the same franchisee. He has opened another outlet after the success of the first one.” The new outlet has been opened in Forum mall.
