Measuring quality in teacher education perspective that favors equal opportunity in education.

Teachers act as role models. It is important for pupil attainment that the profession fully reflects the diversity of the society in which it operates (in terms, for example of culture, mother tongue, and disability). Member States could take measures to ensure that the composition of the teaching workforce fully reflects the diversity of society and in particular remove obstacles to culture and gender balance at all levels

Talking about the crunch in finding excellent teachers, Bindu Rana, CEO & Founder, Millenium Schools said,” While we are preparing children for the future, we have teachers who are trained in that outdated syllabus itself. So, there is a huge gap between this. What we really need to do is to build up a very strong robust and a futuristic education system where we may not have mass teaching but personalised teaching. A teacher should have the knowledge of one to one teaching.”

“The industry is struggling to get good and passionate expert teachers in every field. These are the challenges that ii feel exist today in the Education scenario”, said the Founder of Millenium Schools.

The Director, TERI Prakriti School, Lata Vaidyanathan said, “Specifically talking about teacher training I would be thinking about how to make this thinking about what he knows within the content of the curriculum in the 21st century.”

“When we talk about Teacher training in the 21st century, I think the disruption will dictate what is to be done because we don’t even know what needs to be done. A teacher needs to think about learning to learn and thinking to think. The point is that the unpredictability of situation promises another role for the teacher and that unpredictability is the dilemma in the Education sphere”, said Lata Vaidyanathan.

The teacher is required to acquire adequate knowledge, skills, interests and attitudes towards the teaching profession.
