- Curves International enters India
Curves International, a US-based fitness club for women plans to open 250 fitness centres in India through its Master Franchise- Curves India. These centres will be launched within a span of three years and will be franchisee operated centres.
Curves India has also signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Q-Mart Retail Ventures Pvt. Ltd, a Hyderabad based food retailer. It will be an exclusive franchisee of Curves India for Andhra Pradesh and will open 18 outlets in the state. Apart from this, the company will open 30 sub-franchised fitness centres in Mumbai and 50 in Delhi.
Recently, the company has started its first centre in Mumbai and is soon going to launch its second fitness centre in Hyderabad.
Established in 1992 by Gary and Diane Heavin in Texas, Curves International is now the world’s largest fitness franchise with more than 10, 000 centres in over 50 countries. The company has developed a new concept of 30-minute fitness, strength training and weight-loss programme for women.
