Dabur to franchise ‘Newu’

Dabur India Ltd, a consumer goods company is planning to explore the franchise route for ‘Newu’, confirms Parikshit Sharma, COO, H&B Stores Ltd. Newu is the beauty retail store brand by Dabur’s, retail subsidiary H&B Stores Ltd.

The company, which is operating 22 Newu stores in north India, is planning to touch 50 by the end of March 2011 and 150 stores by end of March 2012. The company is targeting the western region of India to mark its presence however, the franchise route will be adopted for the northern parts of India only. The franchise outlets will be launched at the high street locations, while Dabur will have its company owned stores at the malls.

Established in 2008, H&B Stores Ltd operates Newu stores that offer a range of beauty products from across the globe and India. It includes brands from HUL, P&G, Dabur (among the Indian companies), along with a host of international brands like Flormar, Beauty Formulas, SEN, QVS. In addition, the company has also introduced fashion accessories and a unique range of affordable silver Jewellery.
