Delhi government will be starting 57 Wellness Centres beyond March 31. The government is set to launch these centres on the line of Mohalla Clinic and Polyclinic.
The official at Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said, "This is another strong step towards providing primary care facilities to the common people with the opening of 57 wellness centres. The Department has started preparing for it. The staff at these wellness centres would be equipped to provide care for mother and child care, drug and behaviour, eye-ENT and Trauma care. Moreover, the staff would also be trained to provide the palliative care to the cancer patients."
"We have sent letters to All India Institute of Medical Sciences' Palliative cancer care, similarly for the dental care, to Maulana Azad Dental Institute and for Mother and Childcare to Lok Nayak Hospital, for drug and behaviour letter has been sent to Institute of Human Behaviour & Allied Sciences (IHBAS) and staff will be trained for the eye care from Guru Nanak Eye Centre," the official added.
The DGHS will turn their old dispensaries, Mohalla clinics and Polyclinics into wellness centres as soon as the medicos will complete their training.
57 old centres will be converted into wellness centres while the rest of the Mohalla Clinic and Poly Clinic will continue to function as earlier.
