The Chennai-based Disprz, which runs a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that helps companies deliver educational and training content, has raised a Series-A round of $2.5 million (about Rs 16.5 crore) from IL&FS Private Equity and existing investor Kae Capital.
The SaaS company operated startup aims to utilize the money in enhancing its data science capabilities and to expand operations to overseas markets.
Disprz CEO Subramanian Viswanathan said, “Companies which have a lot of knowledge workers in their payroll say, tech companies and R&D, need to be constantly upgraded.”
“We (also) do it with frontline workers who face customers. We train them through the app. They get trained, on-boarded, communicated and engaged on our platform.”
Viswanathan and fellow ISB alumnus Kuljit Chadha started the company in 2015, their second venture together. Disprz provides a multilingual app that combines onboarding, on-demand knowledge delivery, employee engagement and real-time communication. The company also does data analytics and predicts how workers will perform at work.
“Having won our early clients in the US, we now have a clear roadmap to go deeper in the US market,” said Shubhankar Bhattacharya, venture partner at Kae Capital.
