Domino’s Pizza India Ltd, a part of Domino’s Pizza Inc. has changed its name to Jubilant FoodWorks Limited. The company will remain the part of Jubilant Bhartia Group that holds the master franchisee rights for the Domino’s Pizza brand and its operations in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. On this, Ajay Kaul, CEO, Jubilant FoodWorks Limited says, “The decision to change the name has been taken to align ourselves with the branding of the Jubilant Bhartia Group, promoted by Shyam S. Bhartia and Hari S. Bhartia.”
The company is presently engaged in the business operation of Domino’s Pizza stores in India and Srilanka. According to Kaul, “We believe that the food service industry has a potential for significant growth and we plan to leverage our market position and experience in the food services industry to introduce new international food services brands in India. The name which has been changed from Domino’s Pizza India Ltd to Jubilant Food Works Ltd. is also in sync with this ambition of ours.”
The brand, Domino’s Pizza was founded in the US in 1960. Since then, it has grown into a global network of over 8,500 pizza stores in more than 60 countries around the world. The company opened its first Domino's Pizza store in India in January 1996, at New Delhi. It is one of India’s leading pizza chains with around 274 stores in 55 cities.
