Dunkin’ Donuts has joined hands with grocery delivery platform Grofers to deliver its packaged and fresh products at the doorstep of its customers. This will help the American brand push consumption in India.This is the new trend in the Indian donuts franchise market by Dunkin’ Donuts India, which is promoted by Jubilant Foodworks Limted. It is first time that a quick service restaurant is joining hands with a grocery delivery platform.
A spokesperson of the company told Franchise India, “Yes, we have tied-up with Grofers and we hope it is going to be a big success and will open more options for us.” The brand, which has just introduced some packaged products like donut cakes, will deliver only fresh donuts to begin with through Grofers. However, the chain is considering scaling it up to its other menu items subsequently.
Jubilant, which is a part of Jubilant Bhartia group, is India’s major food service company and has exclusive rights for developing and operating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants for India. It has launched about 61 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants across 21 cities in India. It also has a network of about 921 Domino’s Pizza restaurants across 209 cities. The company and its subsidiary have the exclusive rights to develop and operate Domino’s Pizza brand in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. At present it operates in India and Sri Lanka.
