Sapphire Foods, which operates over 350 KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurants in India, Sri Lanka and Maldives, has raised Rs 225 crore in a fresh round of funding led by Edelweiss Private Equity.

The funds raised will be used by the company for expansion activities.

Sanjay Purohit, Group CEO of Sapphire Foods, said, “We believe there is significant potential to expand our current restaurant base.”

Pranav Parikh, Managing Partner & Head, Edelweiss Private Equity, stated, “This investment in Sapphire Foods is consistent with our thesis to partner with structurally high growth businesses led by strong management teams.”

Presently, Sapphire Foods offers direct employment to more than 8,500 youth across India through its restaurants.
