Shivakumar's addition to SPJIMR's Governing Council aligns with the institution's ongoing efforts to engage with industry leaders who can offer strategic direction, according to the institute.

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s SP Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) on Tuesday announced the appointment of former Pepsico India Chairman Shiv Shivakumar to its Governing Council.

Dr Varun Nagaraj, Dean at SPJIMR, expressed the institution's honor in welcoming Shiv Shivakumar to the Governing Council. "His insights, coupled with his proven track record in various leadership roles, will be invaluable as we continue to strive for excellence in management education," Nagaraj said.

“With a career spanning several decades, Shivakumar brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the council. Shivakumar’s deep understanding of business strategy, leadership, and innovation will contribute significantly to the institution's vision and mission,” he added.

Nurturing Future Leaders

Prior to this appointment, Shivakumar has held several top management positions. He has been associated with PepsiCo as its chairman and CEO for India. He has also served as the Group Executive President for Strategy and Business Development with the Aditya Birla Group. He also served on the board of Godrej Consumer products for eight years and is currently the non-executive chairman of the board of Burger King India. He is also on the customer advisory council for Facebook/Meta.

Shivakumar's addition to SPJIMR's Governing Council aligns with the institution's ongoing efforts to engage with industry leaders who can offer strategic direction and mentorship, according to the institute. “SPJIMR looks forward to benefiting from Shivakumar's expertise and vision as it continues to nurture future leaders in the business and management sectors,” according to the institute.
