Express Bike Works (EBW), backed by Mark Mobius and the country's first fastest automated bike wash system, is on an expansion mode and has tied-up with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for setting up franchisee outlets at their 12000+ sites across country. They already have two outlets, one each in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai at the HP petrol pumps and will soon launch in Hyderabad, Nagpur, Pune, Vizag, Cochin and Vijaywada.

Express Bike Works will also be launching franchisees at IOCL retail outlets and standalones, across Pune, Surat, Hyderabad, Cochin, Nagpur, Delhi, Coimbatore, Mysore and Bengaluru by this year. They have already set-up a store at IOCL petrol pump in Hennur, Bengaluru which has a high density of two-wheelers. Another stand-alone retail outlet has been launched in Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, close to NagaramPalem road. Services available at all EBW stores will include 2-minute automated motorcycle washing, detailing, health check-up, express maintenance and on-road assistance anywhere in India.

On this association with HPCL, Niraj Taksande, Co-founder, Express Bike Works says, “This association has given us a much needed boost to sign-up and set up a store in the least time. Location being the major asset in our retail business, petrol pumps provide us enough traction for an early store breakeven.” EBW has been allotted space to operate in these petrol pumps across India.

Express Bike Works uses smart cloud based technologies to remotely monitor the operations of the centre. The technology enables them to keep a track of the number of washes that happen a day, billing and consumables, thus making the stores self-reliant. Installation of EBW machine is as simple as plug and play and it is a mobile unit that can be installed anywhere.

"We have been extremely careful while partnering with a potential franchisee. Expanding through such a model is a critical procedure and to ensure that our brand is in the right hands, we follow strict parameters like the franchisee's willingness to upheld & maintain the brand's identity, willingness to trust and follow directions and a passion to succeed by being self-driven” adds Niraj.

The EBW machines are regularly and rigorously tested by Hero Moto Corp and other OEMs and have successfully catered to more than 1,50,000+ bikers till date. The machine is capable of washing even the dirtiest of motorcycle within 5 minutes, which is the fastest in the world. It is extremely efficient in conserving water and power and requires one-fifth of the water a conventional wash care requires. Conventional wash takes 50-60 litres while EBW takes 10litres only. Furthermore, the water is recycled for constant use until it is deemed unfit for wash care, which then can be used for gardening purpose. Also, the price to customer for a wash at EBW is equal to the amount one would spend at any local bike wash centre and that too in lesser time. EBW stores delivers touch free, scratch free, shining bikes with no waiting time to their customers along with offering them a world class bike care experience.

Elucidating on their expansion plans, Bhushan Karn, Co-founder, EBW says, “Our progress has been great so far and we plan to open 100 stores by the end of this financial year. Our association with HPCL is on a national level and we shall provide these retail outlets to franchisees for launching stores.”
