- Fastrack to add around 70 stores soon
Titan’s Youth Brand, Fastrack, recently came up with its range of helmets hoping to organise the unorganised helmet market. The brand known for its wonderful collection of watches is all set to expand its presence, this time with the addition of helmets in it.
Lifestyle accessories have seemingly overpowered the jewellery business as Titan is more focused to expand the same instead of its jewellery business. Bhaskar Bhat, Managing Director, Titan, said “De-risking from the gold business is a choice the company has made, and in fact, Fastrack has shown us the way. We are evaluating many lifestyle categories but most of the development is at a very nascent stage right now. Within existing categories also, bags, for instance, we are evaluating scope to expand our offering further.”
Fastrack is currently running almost 147 stores, but in fiscal year 2014 the brand would add almost 50-75 more stores via the franchise route. In the product line of Fastrack, there are sunglasses, wallets and bag belts as well. HG Raghunath, CEO, Titan, says, “Fastrack wants to occupy the youth's mind completely. Not only helmets, whenever they think of a watch, a bag, a belt or any other accessory they require, they should think of Fastrack.”
