Four Points, a brand of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, will be doubling its strength in India over the next five years as it announced plans to open three new properties. The new properties will come up in Bhopal, Vijayawada and the Vembanad Lake in Kerala.
"India is still an 'under-hoteled' market, and the demand for high-caliber lodging is expected to exceed current supply for at least the next three to five years," Dilip Puri, MD, India and Regional Vice-President - South Asia at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, was quoted as saying by PTI.
Sudeep Jain, Vice-President - Acquisitions and Development for South Asia, said tier II markets provide untapped growth opportunities for us, particularly for Four Points. Globally, Four Points is experiencing "incredible" growth momentum, having recently crossed its 200th operating hotel milestone, PTI report said further.
Starwood operates hotels, resorts and residences under its brands like St Regis, The Luxury Collection, Westin, Le Meridien, Sheraton, Four Points by Sheraton, Aloft, Element and the and the recently introduced Tribute portfolio.
