As a part of its strategy to enter the Indian market, French childcare group Babilou has acquired a majority stake in Chennai-based Amelio Early Education.
Sridevi Raghavan, founder and Chief Executive Officer, Amelio Early Education, said the partnership will help the company tap into the best practices of international curriculum in the early-education space. It will also help the company expand further into key Indian cities.
Amelio Early Education is a day-care centre and preschool was founded in 2008 and is currently has 13 centres across Chennai and one in Bengaluru.
For Babilou group, it is a new opportunity for expansion in India.
The French group, founded in 2003, has 520 childcare centres a combination of day-care centres, nursery clubs and nursery schools.
It is present in 8 countries including Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the UAE.
