Licious, fresh meat and seafood brand, has raised $25 million in a Series-D round led by Japan's Nichirei Corp.
The fund raising round has also seen participation from existing investors including 3one4 Capital, Bertelsmann India Investments, Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India, UCLA, Sistema Asia Fund.
Licious said, "With plans of opening operations in the new year across seven cities including Mumbai, Pune and Chennai, the funds will be used to further strengthen Licious' dominant market presence, portfolio of value-added product portfolio and world-class supply chain."
In September 2018, the Bengaluru-based startup had raised $25 million in series C round of growth fund. The company had raised $10 million in Series B funding round in March 2017. So far, it had raised $64 million.
Founded in 2015, the company is built on the farm-to-fork business model. Presently, Licious has operations in Bengaluru, NCR and Hyderabad.
